Web site traffic Stats can help your Online Business

If you have an online store, then you more than likely need some website traffic statistics (stats). These are counters that can help you keep track of what is going on at your site.

There are a lot of different types of stats you can look at, but the key is knowing how to read these stats. First of all, you can never read too much into one stat. In fact, these stats are no good unless they are looked at together. For example, most people have a hit counter on their website. This counts the number of visits you have had to your site. However, this does not tell you if the person just happens to come across your site, or if they stayed there for a long time. This is why you must look at all stats.

When looking at stats you should look at the stats that show how long people are staying on your site.
If the number is low, then that means that they are coming on it and leaving right away. This can help you find out if the information on your site is good or not. Next, you need to look and see what your best exit page is.

If you have an online store, your exit page would be your check out page. After they make a purchase they exit your site. However, if people are leaving your site on the first page, that means they are not looking around. As you can see, these stats by themselves do not mean much. However, when you put these stats together you can see that they could be very helpful to keeping up with your site. It is always a good idea to keep up with what’s going on at your site when you are not there.
This way you can know if what you have on the site is good, or if you need to fix it. Having the wrong information can cost you a sale.

In my opinion best and Free stats you can get by using “Google Analyticswww.google.com/analytics/
They offer greate reports you can find for your site.

Why do you need a great Landing Page

If you have an online business, then you are going to need a great landing page.
Well, now you are asking yourself, “What’s a landing page?”
This is the page that a person is going to get taken to when they click on one of your ads or links to your business.
There are many reasons why you need a landing page, but the best reason is that your other pages are just not going to cut it.
Most people make the mistake of making their home page their landing page.
However, this is not a page that is going to jump out and grab your customer.
You want a page that is not too overwhelming, but at the same time, begs them to stay.
From your landing page you will want to place a link to take them to your home page, but make sure they go to the landing page first.

The main reason why you need a landing page is so that you can talk to your customer. In the land of the internet, you cannot be at your site to talk to people every day. However, if you have a great landing page, they will get to see your shop, learn a little bit about you, and what they can do. Trying to sell things online without a landing page is like trying to sell something without a store.
How often do you feel safe buying things from random people in the streets? With a landing page they can be taken to your store, and they can see how to buy something. If you are looking to start an online business, one of the things that you must have before you start is a landing page. Otherwise, you are just going to be a random person on the internet trying to sell things. You do not want to be that person, so go out and get yourself a landing page today, and make the most out of your ads.

Seven Effective Ecommerce Strategies

If you want to maintain a successful business online you can follow seven basic fundamentals that will get you going even in the times when market is in loss.

The first and most basic element in a successful web business is the presentation of your website which can be the web template you’ve used or the designs and images. You do not want too much on one page so you need to spread the whole information of your products services out in a neatly, organized manner. Also, keep in mind the great graphics and themes used on your webpage must not to pull away attention from your advertising message.

The 2nd crucial element is the attention grabbing factor of the readers. For instance a person may not check out your website for more than 60 seconds unless they are asked to by an acquaintance. The temptation should be given in front of the reader before s/he needs to scroll down to get to the more interesting part. Do not save the good stuff for last as people might not even reach to that point and close the explorer window.

Navigation tools must be easy to follow and right there in front of the viewer as many might hate being lost on a webpage and cannot find how to go back, forth or to the main menu. In short, keep your webpage simple and conventional.

Fourthly, make your webpage inviting and personal rather than keeping it formal and distant. People would want to do business with someone who they can contact and get to talk to in personal rather than just a business label.

Have common questions and confusions be cleared on the webpage including FAQs related to your products, services or market. This way you take your customers in confidence by having to answer their questions in a friendly manner.

Give your viewers an incentive to become your regular customers by offering a newsletter, subscription emails or a free sample to gain more customers and keep them in touch with you one way or the other.

Last but not the least, like any other product or business get smart and do not ignore the main factor that will bring you more customers, advertising. Use websites, newspapers, magazines, blogging and forums to divert the consumer traffic to your website and this is supposed to be an ongoing process.

To sum up by following these seven effective marketing strategies you can keep your business running smoothly without worrying about a loss.

Preparing for Google Shakeups Before They Happen!

As of right now, one of the best ways to get traffic to your website is to have lots of other websites linking to it. Google especially factors in how many websites link to you, how much traffic they get, how many websites link to them, and how much traffic those websites get, in a tangled web that, somehow, defines the importance of a site and helps determine where it should show up in the search engine rankings.
AvaHost offer site submittion service for our customers.
We will submit your site to hundreds of well-ranked directories and search engines.
See this page for more info: www.avahost.net/promo.html

But if there’s one thing Google is good at, it’s finding out new ways of calculating the SERP for any given site. As soon as they come up with one way, “spamdexers”—those who misuse the search engine’s ranking method to get their pages listed higher—find ways to misuse it. When rankings were primarily driven by keyword popularity, these were the people who stuffed their META tags with Britney Spears keywords. Now they’re the people who use link farms to make it seem as though more people are linking to them.

But every so often, Google shifts things around so that new factors become more important in determining search engine rankings. By doing this, they keep spamdexers on their toes. They also keep legitimate webmasters nervous, wondering when the next shakeup will come and how search engines will next determine rankings.

However, there are a few foolproof methods that webmasters can employ to ensure that they stay close to the top in the SERP’s, regardless of the changes that search engines make.

The first is simply to have good content. Good, solid content that is both interesting and informative ensures that people will want to visit your website. Quality is the key. If your site is truly a leader among its peers when it comes to content, then word of mouth alone will be a powerful tool. Become recognized as the place to go for information on any given topic, and you won’t have to rely on clever SEO for your page rankings. Quality content will do the work for you. Good content, even more than good SEO, is what makes a website popular. And a popular website is one that shows up high on a SERP.

The second is to keep your keywords current. They may not be the only thing determining pagerank, but they are still an essential part of making your website easy to find. Keep keywords to the point; only include those keywords that people are likely to use when searching for a site like yours. Too many keywords dilutes the effect, too few means you may be losing traffic you could otherwise get. Know your most important keywords, and use them as often as possible without compromising quality.

Finally, update your website frequently. Again, keep the quality of the content in mind. It’s better to have good content updated once a week than iffy content updated every day. But a regularly updated website is a website that attracts not just new visitors, but returning ones. And returning visitors are much more likely to buy the products you sell or use the products you recommend than new ones.

These three tips can go a long way towards making sure that your website stays on top no matter how Google or any other search engine calculates rankings. When you use these three tips, you end up with a quality website. A quality website doesn’t have to rely on SEO gimmicks to become popular. That isn’t to say that SEO isn’t important; just that it isn’t the most important.

Make Your Google AdWords Campaign Generate 70% More Qualified Visitors To Your Website.

Are you frustrated with your PPC campaign and feel like it’s draining your budget each and every month? Want your Google AdWords and Yahoo! PPC campaigns to start paying you big dividends in increased sales and leads so you’ll be excited about the results (and maybe even want to increase your budget)?

If this sounds appealing to you, then here are the 2 main things to fix…

Mistake #1 – Low Relevance between PPC Keywords and Ads

I advise business owners and marketers everyday about their web site optimization, and 90% of the time they’re frustrated with their PPC results. But when I review their PPC campaigns the reason is usually very obvious.

The biggest mistake I see businesses and marketers making with PPC is low “relevance.” For example, they throw way too many keyword phrases into one (or just a few) “ad groups” or “categories” within their PPC campaign. Then they make it even worse by only running one ad within each ad group.

Why is this bad?

Because it makes it impossible to write laser targeted and relevant ads that closely match each keyword phrase you’re bidding on (and searchers are searching on). The result is that there is just not a close enough match or “relevance” between the keyword used in the search, and your ad that is displaying on Google search engine where your target market sees it.

In fact, this is exactly why your cost per click remains sky-high and your click-thru rates (CTRs) and traffic are so low. You’re only getting a little traffic, but you’re paying top dollar per click and they’re not converting into enough sales or leads! This is a classic case of low relevance between PPC Keywords and Ads and it’s not the way to run a successful PPC campaign!

Mistake #2 – Low Relevance of Landing Pages

The next problem comes from the actual web pages, or “landing pages” that web site marketers send their PPC traffic to. Usually, the landing page is just not relevant enough to the keyword the searcher used at the search engine. As a result, over 50% of their PPC traffic (and monthly budget) is wasted as a majority of visitors “bail” within the first 8 seconds while you rack up big PPC bills.

Here are some examples:

Don’t send your PPC traffic to your web site’s home page, because 95% of the time the home page will generate terrible conversions. Why? Because usually it’s just not relevant enough to the keyword your visitor searched on.
In other words, if the searcher types in “blue widgets” don’t send them to your home page. They don’t want any widget, they want a blue widget! It’s much better to send them directly to the blue widget product page.

Even if you’re a savvy marketer who’s already sending traffic to individual landing pages that correspond to the keyword, you can get much higher conversions if you make additional landing pages that precisely match the keywords in your PPC campaign.

The Solution:
Strive for High Relevance and Watch Your ROI from PPC Skyrocket!

The solution within your PPC campaign is to build more ad groups and have less keywords within each ad group. In fact, your highest traffic/most in-demand keyword phrases should have their own Ad Group! This enables you accomplish two important things that will raise your conversions and sales:

Write precisely targeted ads that are 100% relevant to your tightly clustered keywords;
Send these visitors directly to a perfectly targeted landing page.

Keywords and Ads
For example, instead of putting all your colors of widgets into Ad Group #1 like this:

Keywords:   Ad:
blue widgets
green widgets
red widgets

Buy Widgets
Choose aluminum or titanium
Get free shipping on $100 orders
www.WidgetFactory.com

Put your keywords and ads in closely clustered Ad Groups and Categories so the ads closely match each of your keyword phrases:

Blue:

Keywords:   Ad:
blue widgets
dark blue widgets
light blue widgets

Buy Blue Widgets
Choose aluminum or titanium
Get free shipping on $100 orders
www.WidgetFactory.com/Blue

Green:

Keywords:   Ad:
green widgets
dark green widgets
light green widgets

Buy Green Widgets
Choose aluminum or titanium
Get free shipping on $100 orders
www.WidgetFactory.com/Green

Red:

Keywords:   Ad:
red widgets
dark red widgets
light red widgets

Buy Red Widgets
Choose aluminum or titanium
Get free shipping on $100 orders
www.WidgetFactory.com/Red

Landing Pages:
As for your landing pages, write a page for each individual product and then quickly and easily build laser-targeted landing pages for your PPC ads by copying and editing them to exactly match the PPC keywords and ads your visitors are coming from.

Conclusion:

The reason you’re not getting the results you’d like from your PPC campaign is because your PPC ads and landing pages are not relevant enough for your visitors. Strive to achieve as close to 100% relevance as possible and watch your traffic and sales go through the roof!

Organic “Natural” Search Engine Optimization VS Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Advertising

When you purchase visitors or “clicks” from a search engine, this is called “pay-per-click” (PPC) search engine advertising (or PPCSE). Pay-Per-Click Search Engine Advertising allows you to quickly get top search engine placement by “bidding” (paying) for keywords related to your product or service.

“Organic” or “Natural” search engine optimization (SEO) is accomplished by optimizing your web pages and by increasing your “link popularity” by acquiring or paying for links that point to your web site. This gives you high rankings at the Search Engines for your chosen search terms.

In this article, we will explore the strengths and weaknesses of both methods of search engine marketing. Plus, I’ll show you the best resources and tools for improving your search engine rankings for long term success…

“Natural” Search Engine Optimization:

Today, there is a big myth that natural search engine optimization is inexpensive and easy. For example, if you wanted your web site to rank high for the keyword phrase “life insurance” or “debt consolidation” you’re going to need to budget a minimum of $50,000-100,000 a year!

Yet still, natural search engine optimization usually gives you a much higher return on investment than pay per click. This is true for two main reasons:

  1. More searchers click the natural search engine results versus the pay per click ads, so you’ll get much more traffic for less.
  2. One of the biggest factors to improving your rankings with natural search engine optimization is by boosting your “Link Popularity” by acquiring or paying for links that point to your web site. These links give you lasting results by giving you top rankings and traffic from the search engines. Plus, the links themselves will provide a significant boost in long term traffic.

With that said, the biggest weakness of natural search engine optimization is the time required to generate links and “optimize” your web pages and keywords to get those prized high rankings you so desire. It can literally take 3 months or more to finally enjoy the benefits of your search engine optimization campaign.

Pay Per Click Search Engine Advertising:

The biggest benefit of pay per click is the fact that it will provide you with an immediate boost of qualified visitors, lead and sales giving you fast results within just hours or days. In fact, a pay per click advertising program is your best option if you seek fast results and a good return on investment while you are waiting for your Search Engine Optimization (SEO) program to “ramp up.”

Depending on your traffic goals, you can budget $100 or $100,000. PPCSEs also give you the added benefits of being able to quickly test your web site and track your conversion rates (leads, opt-ins, and sales) and turning keywords (visitors) on and off easily.

So, as a short term strategy pay per click gives you the clear advantage over SEO. But, the disadvantage is the cost involved. Depending on the market demand for your keywords and clicks, your PPCSE campaign can generate tons of traffic and can cost hundreds, even thousands per day. With various optimization strategies you can lower your costs, but over the long term natural search engine optimization will give you a higher return on your marketing dollar.

In Conclusion:

The golden rule in marketing is that you should constantly strive for maximum results and ROI for your budget. In other words, if your marketing is making you a profit - even if it’s a thin profit - it’s worth it. By this model, pay per click is worth doing, but overall pay per click will leave you with thinner margins.

The reason for conducting a natural search engine optimization campaign is to significantly increase your margins over the long term.
