Viewing a new site
DNS information for your new domain does not resolve immediately.
When your DNS information for your new domain is resolved, you can go directly to
the actual domain by entering the following URL in the Address field of your Internet
browser: http://domain-name.com/.
Previewing Web page content
To preview Web page content:
In the Address field of your Internet browser, enter the following URL:
http://YOUR-IP-NUMBER/~Your_UserName
where:
Your_UserName and YOUR-IP-NUMBER lietsed in the setup e-mail.
Uploading Files
You have to place all documents to the public_html directory of your webspace or they won't be visible to the web.
If you would like to upload files before your domain gets transferred to our server - please use your IP address as a hostname
in your ftp program. Or use FileManager from CPanel control panel.
Information and server paths to run a CGI script:
cgi-bin path = /home/username/public_html/cgi-bin
http path = /home/username/public_html
cgi url = http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin/yourscript.cgi
path to Perl = /usr/bin/perl
path to sendmail = /usr/lib/sendmail
path to the date program = /bin/date
Directory to upload files = public_html
Accessing the Control Panel
You can access your control panel by going to http://YOUR-IP-NUMBER/cpanel/ or http://domain-name.com/cpanel/
Please use your domain name as "domain-name.com"
Use your ftp username and password to access your control panel.
First steps to follow once your account is activated:
Login to CPanel with your username / password.
Set up any specific e-mail accounts or forwards you will need. If you need address1@yoursites.com to go to a different e-mail address than address2@yoursite.com set up those forwards, or set them up as POP e-mail accounts.
If you will be using FrontPage to design your site click on the "FrontPage Extensions" link in the Site Management section of Cpanel. This will allow you to connect to your site with FrontPage once your domain is resolved to your web space. (NOTE: FrontPage extensions will NOT work until your site is fully active on our servers)
Upload files of your site to the server (if your site is already developed on your local computer).
